At the age of 16 Houston rapper Novakane, born Christopher Javar Terry, was first introduced to music by a neighborhood DJ who let him record a few verses. From then on Kane made it his mission to turn his passion into more than just a mere

hobby, he sought to conquer the rap world. At 18 Novakane mastered the art of free styling and released his first underground CD “All Work, No Play”. He sold 2000 units as an independent artist and gained a wide range of recognition.

A Houston native, Novakane had been battling the love of hustling the streets and his love for music when the biggest responsibility of his life began for him, August 5, 2002 he welcomed a baby girl into his life. Now with two mouths to feed, his dedication to music was like never before.

Like many underground musicians the street life took a toll on him, suffering a near death experience by overdosing on promethazine Novakane vowed to be full throttle with his music and leave the streets behind.By the age of 21 Novakane put together his first debut album “Prince of the City”,which features artists such as Houston’s own Lil Flip, Trae the Truth, Big Pokey and many more. Unfortunately his debut album never made it to the market due to management complications, disappointed, Novakane continued to push hard.
